While fall is sadly coming to an end, I thought it would be a great idea for Joey and I to get some professional photos taken (not ones where we are at our fake wedding) since our lives have changed so much since our college days and continuing so!
So I called up my very talented sister, Katie, of Katie Powers Photography to capture a few shots of us while we were still in the prettiest season of them all!
So it’s official, I’m 25! A quarter of a century! And yet I still look like I’m 14….. I am super excited for a new year to take on my goals and knock them out of the park! 24 was an all-over-the-place kind of year for me. I quit my first big girl job, left Victoria’s Secret after more than 6 years, started a new career working for Ulta Beauty, and so much more!
I’m looking forward to a year filled with hard work in pushing myself the be the best I can be, having a more positive outlook on life in each situation, and forcing myself out of my comfort zone! Now is definitely the time for it! I also really want to dedicate myself to this space so much more as well! It’s been a blast interacting with y’all and seeing how much some of my posts inspire you and I can’t wait to put out more and with the holidays coming up, I have so many ideas to share!
Thank you so much to my family, friends, and everyone who has supported me in the last year and sent birthday wishes! It made my day that much more special and I can’t even explain how much I appreciate all of you!
While it’s nowhere near the amount we got last year, we finally got our snow storm of the year here in Virginia! I’ve been off from work the past 4 days and still have 2 more to go + I’m pretty sure I’m losing my mind! My tiny little bug won’t get me far in these conditions which is really pushing me to go ahead and buy that jeep I’ve been meaning to get around to!
Anyway, I decided to venture out into my backyard and take some fun picks like I do every year! Everything was completely frozen over just like a particular Disney favorite of mine!
I’m so excited! I’m lucky enough to have a photographer for a sister who just happens to love to do random photoshoots with me! Last month she wanted to take a few in Downtown Norfolk! I’m so excited, because I finally got a few back and I love them! It’s so fun to see how her style has changed over the past 6 years! So sorry for the lack of posts! With the huge job change (the last minute quitting of my main job of event planning and looking for a new one) I’ve been very busy! But I have some great things to come so stay tuned! Today while taking a moment to clean out my car in an attempt to try and organize my life a little, these tiny hearts of joy fell out and brightened up my day! It’s amazing how something so simple can turn your entire outlook around! Feeling inspired and ready to take on what ever comes my way!
With the colder days approaching, there is nothing like warming up your big day than with the color gold. It is glamourous, chic, and dazzling! Whether you choose to go with yellow gold or a more rose gold route (my favorite) it is sure to make a statement that your guests won’t be able to forget! What I love about this trend….. gold, sequined table linens! The texture is amazing and the sparkle will just pick up beautifully in your photos! LOVE!
Last month, Joey + I (okay really just me) decided to take some official photos together so that we could have some to display. The majority of our photos are taken at parties, out on the town, or selfless and those really are not frame worthy! We had our friend in Charlottesville, Va who just started up her photography business take the photos and I love them! She had taken our photos previously to build her portfolio but had to have her take more once she found her style! Hopefully you all like them! We had them taken at Chris Greene Lake and despite the rainy day, it was so much fun!
Out of all the colors in the world, purple is definitely my top pick as a favorite! It doesn’t matter which hue it may be, I’m bound to love it automatically. With Fall weather approaching rapidly, my favorite hue of purple is about to be everywhere! Plum to me, is the perfect shade. It looks great on basically any skin tone, it feels romantic, looks chic yet still warm and cozy! Check out some of my top favorite times featured in this lovely shade!
It’s September, which is my favorite month of all time! It’s my birthday month, the start of fall, fashion is at it’s best, and the PSL is back! So that means I need to do my September favorites for this month! I don’t usually do these, but given that it’s my favorite month, I think it’s necessary! Here we go!
My first favorite, is obviously my birthday which was on the 5th! I turned the good ole’ 24 this year and I can’t wait to see what it brings me. 23 was a rough one, so I feel like I can only for up!
My next favorite is anything Maroon! I just feel that this is “THE” fall color! In my opinion, it looks great on everyone! So if it’s maroon, I want it, need it, gotta have it!
My next favorite is pumpkins!!! I feel like September is the month to start breaking out all your pumpkin decor and I love it! Anything to do with pumpkins, I am completely obsessed! Pumpkin decor, pumpkin picking, PSL!! LOVE IT ALL!
Another fashion item that I am completely in LOVE with this month (and will probably continue for the next 7 months) are turban headbands! My obsession with these come from 2 people and now I just can’t get enough! The first person is Jessie James Decker! She makes them look so casual and effortless that I needed some of my own! The next very unlikely person is actually my sweet little baby niece, Maren (or my sister Kelsey because she’s the one who dresses her) She just looks so precious in them that I need to buy so so we can have some Auntie-Niece twinning time!
My beauty favorite for this month is the no makeup-makeup trend! The natural tones and dewy complexion just makes me so happy! I was never a huge fan of the intense contouring or really bright and colorful make up that was going around this summer so I’m over the moon excited for this trend!
My last favorite for this month are going to be a few songs! The first is “I Don’t Dance” by Lee Brice and lets be real, it’s more of a lifetime favorite because I’ve loved it since the day it was released! The next song is “Burnin’ It Down” by Jason Aldean, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to this song on repeat…. The next song is a cover by Chase Rice (feat. Macy Maloy) “Ride”! This has to be one of the sexiest versions of this song I’ve ever heard! Love it! My last song for this list is “Waves” By Mr. Probz. It plays at work all the time and it just feels so relaxing and makes me want to just take off for a day at the beach!
So this past weekend my two new favorite little people were christened at St. Steven Martyr Catholic Church in Chesapeake, Va! It was a great time that brought all our family together! My sister took these great photos of Reed (who thinks it’s hilarious that he had to wear a dress) and Maren (who looked absolutely beautiful as usual)! They both wore the same christening gown that my grandmother made that we also wore on our big day!
