It’s pretty much been a lifetime (or at least feels like it) since I’ve posted on here, so I thought it would be a perfect chance to do a quick, little life update! Here’s what I’ve been up to the last couple of months!
First off, I’m coming up on my 1 year anniversary of being a resident of Charlottesville, Va! How did this happen? And with that, I’m also moving out of my very first apartment which is beyond exciting (I can’t stand my neighbors) and crazy depressing (it’s my FIRST apartment)! I can’t wait to have a little more space, a shorter drive to work, and be closer to all my favorite shops and restaurants! But I will definitely miss this studio apartment of mine for sure.
On to some other life events, Joey & I each celebrated another birthday! This year had to be my favorite, as I was able to spend the weekend back home with a bunch of family at a Zac Brown Band concert! So good! It was just a much needed, relaxing trip where I got to see some of my favorite people! I then got to follow it up with a lovely day of sunflower picking, which was probably the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen!
Now for probably my favorite thing to happen in the last couple of months, I’m an Auntie to yet another adorable nephew! He is just the sweetest thing and it’s so hard not getting to see him everyday!
And for the more uneventful updates, Fall is back, so it’s no surprise that I’ve been taking advantage of it ever since October hit. From apple picking and pie making, to PSL’s and oversized sweaters, I’m a happy camper! And it’s all being documented on Instagram of course!
One of my favorite things to do in my free time is go for hikes. It’s a great way to stay in shape, get outside, and just explore! Joey took me to a small trail right behind my apartment at Chris Green Lake and it was really fun! Not a lot of work required, but perfect for a last minute stroll, and the view wasn’t bad either!

So sorry for my absence the last week, I have been insanely busy with work, watching/loving on my niece and nephew, and moving rooms! Yup I am leaving my bedroom of more than 10 years! While the 3rd floor bedroom is nice and big, unfortunately, it is absolutely freezing in the winter and unbearably hot in the summer. Not to mention it gets next to no natural light and feels somewhat like a dungeon….
So any who, I am back on the second floor until I move out for good. I’m so excited to be back in this bedroom as it has so much sunshine! It isn’t finished just yet, I still have a few pieces of furniture to move down and then the unpacking begins! Here is a little sneak peek!

In the meantime, I took a little break from moving to have a bowling girls night with some of my favorite angels from work! I wasn’t able to participate the entire time due to injuring my shoulder and hitting my head while moving all my stuff around, but I had a great time none the less and I can’t wait to have another one soon!
\\ Yup… that’s me in the back letting the girls bowl for me! //

This snow situation is make me long for spring weather! I personally do not get a spring break due to graduating college 2 years ago, but that doesn’t mean I can’t live vicariously through you all! Now I wasn’t one who went on crazy trips during my break but I did have a goal for things I wanted to get done! So here are 5 things that I enjoyed doing during my spring breaks and you possibly could too!
1.) Read a book that YOU want, not anything assigned for class. When I was in college I lost the desire to read due to all the chapters necessary for classes. So when I am given a time all to myself I really like to put myself back in a world where reading isn’t just about education but enjoyment!
2.) Plan a day-date! There is nothing better than not having anything to do in the middle of the day! Take advantage of that! Plan a beach picnic with friends that includes a game of volleyball or corn hole! Anything that gets you out of the house and away from Netflix will work just fine!
3.) Eat at your favorite local restaurant. One that you can’t get anywhere else but at home! For me, it’s Taste Unlimited! I used to work there all through high school and it is the best place to get a gourmet sandwich! And sometimes they will still give me my employee discount depending on who’s working, so that’s always a plus!
4.) Having a family day! My family is everything, my biggest support system so of course I want a special day to just be with them. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant, but just have everyone together under the same roof. I suggest a big of family game night to get the excitement going!
5.) Spend an entire day in bed! Preferably one that is closest to the end of your break. When I was in college, I found that once spring break ended, school became crazy busy. So take a day to just be lazy. Watch that Vanderpump Rules Marathon, I don’t care!
Sometimes it’s just nice to use your day off and relax around the house! After a busy morning getting my christmas shopping started, I was happy to spend a few hours in the backyard with my three fur babies! I’m almost starting to think that they love fall just as much as me! Willow, Rudy, & Sailor literally refused to go inside when it was time! I hope you all have been enjoying this beautiful Saturday just the way you wanted! Time for a fun girls night filled with movies, my mom, & sisters!
